Days gone by……… Canada

2009

Hi Everyone,
It’s been a couple of busy weeks and I apologize for not writing sooner. A lot of games have been played and it’s always hard to write a blog when we haven’t been seeing the results we want. Houston, Vancouver and LA were hard losses to swallow for us and it really hurt the guys. The game against Vancouver was the hardest as it was a game that we desperately wanted to win. We have Montreal next and there is no doubt in my mind that we can score the 4 goals needed to get through to the next stage.
This Saturday we have our game against NYRB. Unfortunately I won’t be playing because of my ankle injury. I know the boys are ready for this game because they’ve worked extremely hard this week and are ready to get back on track.
I had a nice day today in Newmarket for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario. I had the opportunity to congratulate the runners and represent TFC in memory of Rob Plunkett who passed away on duty. It’s an annual event which I plan on being a part of every year. I’ve also joined up with two fantastic charities which are Spread the net with Belinda Stronach, Dwayne Derosario and Rick Mercer as well as another amazing charity called Kidsport. Kidsport helps to raise money for young Canadian kids who’s parents cannot afford to put them in organized sports. I am looking forward to working with these two charities in the future.
On a sadder note, my team mate and very close buddy Greg Sutton was unfortunately released from TFC this week. He is a class act, one of the original TFC boys and will go down in history as being the first goal keeper for TFC. He will be more than missed by everyone. I wish Sutts all the best in the future as I’m sure that the future holds great happiness for him.
Anyways I’m signing off for now. It’s a big week for us so let’s get some wins!
Cheers,
Jimmy B
